Location

Fortezza da Basso congress and exhibition venue is located in the centre of Florence. It is easily accessible by a wide range of transportation means, in particular electric mobility, thanks to the Florence tramway network (three lines connecting the city to the airport and suburbs of Careggi and Scandicci), and the presence of various taxi and car sharing companies offering all-electric vehicles.

By car

Florence is well connected to all major Italian cities thanks to a comprehensive national motorway system, which allows for easy access to the city centre where the congress and exhibition centre is located.
Fortezza da Basso is only 4 kilometres from the A1 "Autostrada del Sole" motorway, by taking either the "Firenze Nord" or "Firenze Sud" exits, depending on direction of travel.

VILLA COSTANZA "DRIVE AND TRAMWAY" CAR PARK
Villa Costanza "Drive and Tramway" car park is located at the side of the A1 motorway between the "Firenze Scandicci" and "Firenze Impruneta" exits. It can only be accessed from the motorway, by vehicles travelling in either direction, using the new "Villa Costanza" exit. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and offers the possibility to park your car without leaving the motorway and to reach Florence city centre by tram in just 22 minutes.

By train

Santa Maria Novella Central Railway Station is a two-minute walk from the main entrance to Fortezza da Basso.
Florence's two other main railway stations (Rifredi and Campo di Marte) are both ten minutes from S.M. Novella, and are well-connected to the central station by local train and bus services.

FLORENCE AIRPORT
Florence's "Amerigo Vespucci" International Airport (IATA code: FLR) is 4 km from the city centre. It is easily accessible by taxi, or by the ATAF/Sita "Fly by Bus" service, which connects S. M. Novella Central Railway Station to the airport in just 15-20 minutes.
All major car rental companies also have desks at the airport.

PISA AIRPORT

BOLOGNA AIRPORT
As a result of the recent upgrading of the "Freccia Rossa" high-speed railway line, it is now possible to travel from Bologna to Florence in just 35 minutes, making Bologna's "Guglielmo Marconi" International Airport (IATA code: BLQ) easily accessible from the city of Florence.

Public Urban Transport

Florence's public urban transport services are provided by ATAF and GEST, operating the bus and tram services, respectively.
The bus network covers the entire urban district area and links Florence to neighbouring towns, while the tram network is composed of three lines: T1 (Scandicci-Florence centre), T2 (Airport-Florence centre) and T3 (Careggi Hospital-Florence centre).
